CORN PRODUCTION MANAGER

Total Seed Production is a corn and soybean seed production facility and is looking to fill the position of Corn Production Manager.

This individual will lead the production efforts for planting, growing, and harvesting seed corn. The position focus is on seed corn production including planting, detasseling, and harvest This position communicates daily with the President, Vice President, and General Manager to create a direction for team members to help complete daily, weekly, and monthly goals.

Requirements for the position are a bachelor’s degree with 5 years related work experience; an Associate degree with 8 years related work experience; High School Diploma with at least 10 years related work experience. Farming or agriculture experience with additional experience in seed preferred. Previous management skills are required. Functions as a member of the Management Team and must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, willing to learn, and possess good leadership skills. Excellent communication and computer-related experience are also required. Individuals must be willing to work long hours and work inside and outside during peak seasons.

Corn Production Manager

PRECISION AG SPECIALIST

Total Seed Production is a corn and soybean seed production facility located in Tipton, Indiana. We are currently looking to fill the position of Precision Ag Specialist. This position will be focused on equipment, technology, and operations and will flex between an office setting and farm operations. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of agriculture-related work experience; an associate's Degree with 4 years of agricultural-related work experience, or equivalent or previous background experience in agriculture and farm operations. Previous experience in seed, agronomy, and/or research is beneficial. Drone license and/or ability and willingness to obtain. Previous experience with Trimble and or Precision Planting equipment. Training will be provided but the candidate must be a quick learner, willing and able to ask questions, work in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to problem solve and handle multiple job responsibilities. Excellent communication skills and wiliness to change and grow with the company is important. Attention to detail, previous experience with agriculture-related software and or drones.

Some responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Assist with GPS operation, equipment, and decisions

Precision Ag Specialist


FARM OPERATOR

Looking for a new opportunity in agriculture? Total Seed Production has a position we are seeking a qualified candidate for. The position will be focused at our farm operations during farming seasons and may function as an operator, laborer, or both depending on the time of year. The ideal candidate should have previous background experience in agriculture and at least some experience with farm equipment such as a tractor, combine, sprayer, etc. Previous experience with excavation is highly preferred but not required. Semi-driving experience is a plus but not required. Training will be provided but the candidate must be a quick learner, willing and able to ask questions, work in a fast-paced environment, be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. The right candidate must be willing and able to work long hours during the busy season.

Farm Operator

DRAINAGE TECHNICIAN


Total Seed Production is a corn and soybean seed production facility located in Tipton, IN. We are currently looking for a motivated individual to be responsible for our farm drainage. In this position, you will be responsible for drainage planning and design; installation and repair of tile drainage; surface drainage installation and maintenance; fence row/ditch clearing and maintenance; preventative/daily maintenance and light repairs and the ability to operate heavy equipment. Successful candidates must have the ability to dig on grade; operate GPS and laser grade controls; must be self-motivated; able to solve problems and overcome challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED 
  • Previous farm experience preferred 
  • Previous machine operation experience required 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
  • Basic mechanical/maintenance skills required 
  • Ability to work in different seasons and a variety of weather conditions

CDL DRIVER

Total Seed Production is expanding its trucking fleet business and is looking for CDL drivers to run loads. Runs will include day and overnight runs. This position will be a part of the warehouse and distribution team. Also, during harvest will work with farm operations to run loads to and from the fields. Must have a current CDL and good driving record. This is a full-time position that includes the following benefits:

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

We are currently seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Production Technician. Qualified candidate needs to be willing to work hands-on, have mechanical skills, and ability to be part of a packaging operation, field operations, and plant activities related to the production of corn and soybean seed. Must be willing and able to work both inside and outside during the different farming seasons and be knowledgeable in or ability to learn inventory control and basic plant operations. Previous forklift experience preferred. Experience in Agricultural is a plus but not required.
